A background in marketing and journalism:
Mark worked for two marketing organisations - including the Chartered Institute of Marketing - before starting an 18-year career in journalism that has seen him edit men's lifestyle, sport and golf magazines in Dubai, and the sports section of a national newspaper in Bahrain.
Other assignments have included editing the official Dubai Desert Classic and Dubai Ladies Masters tournament programmes.
Mark started his journalism career as a sports reporter with his local newspaper, the Maidenhead Advertiser, and has been sports editor at several newspapers in the UK.
He was highly commended, as joint runner-up with one other person, in the sports journalist of the year category at the 2005 Midlands Media Awards, while working as a sports writer for the Nottingham Evening Post.
Mark has also worked for several national and regional newspapers in the UK.

Mark's public relations clients have included British Airways, McDonald's, Volvo, a football club, an international music icon, a record label, a professional golf coach, a celebrity children's entertainer, a football troubleshooter, a 14th century inn, an accountant, and a master joiner.
He has worked as a public relations account director for Fortune Promoseven - one of the highest profile advertising agencies in the Middle East - and was global communications manager for One World Beat, an annual music event that brought together musicians from more than 40 countries.
